| | Star Wars: The Villain of All Villains | | Believe me, the most nasty villain in the Star War series must surely be Darth Maul. Yes, the Evil Emperor that evolved from Governor Palpatine is equally tenacious but Darth Maul takes the cake. His face is just a jigsaw of colours and he looks at you with an evil eye. His spear looks like two light sabers fused together. And so for last Halloween, we have many students at the nearby colleges being hooded up to look like this villain. One can knocking at my door and I had to appeased with with sweets and cakes. Did you have such characters dressed up as Darth Maul during the last Halloween? | |

| | What Book Are You Reading At The Moment? | | Who wrote it? What's it about? Would you recommend it to others?I'm currently reading "The Bookseller Of Kabul" by Asne Seierstad. She spent 4 months living with the family of a man called Sultan Khan. He defied the Afghan authorities for years by selling books despite being imprisoned and tortured by the Taliban and having his books publicly burned. I'm about halfway through the book and I'm really enjoying it. It's not just about the bookseller himself but also things that happen in the day to day life of his family. It's a fascinating insight into another country and culture. I would definitely recommend it. | |
| | Lego Star Wars: BLOCK PARTY, FORCED SMILE, AND ACTING UP. | | Of course, this is all very nice and everything, but it d soon get a bit tedious if that was all there was to it. Fortuanately, Lego stars wars uses its toytow origins to deliver some comedy touches. Some will make you laugh a lot more in one level that an entire films-worth of cutesy gurning from gungan liability jar-jar binks.[b] Forced Smile[/b]Use the force on the jukebox in dexters cafe, for instance, and entire place starts hopping along to the mos eisley cantina band's favorite tune. Find some bricks scattered on the floor of jango fetts house, and you can rearrange them to form a portrait of the with them again to show picture of a clone trooper. Nice touches like this alone make the game worth playing.Virtually everything you see can be tweaked and prodded with the force- from flicking lights on and off to making huge space trucks explodes. And the'll all shower you with the lovely.. Lovely studs you need to buy extra characters. Just as good is the LEGO acting although its a scene for scene retread of the films, the characters react like proper comedy toys. Shudder! | | "The Burning Hell" | | The first time I saw that movie, I was about 8 years old sitting in a Sunday School class trying out some new material for my habitual misbehaving in public school the following Monday.
I can't really recall the dialog from the movie, but I do remember that one of the leading actors literally lost his head driving his motorcycle recklessly and ended up burning in "Hell". They had everything in that movie, decapitated heads inside of motorcycle helmets, people being rapped by fire around the clock...deamons that looked like...Darth Maul![b]It was AWESOME!!![/b] And at that age, it was probably the best graphic movie I was permitted to watch besides "Carrie" and "The Exorcist". Later that evening I could not wait to tell all my heathen, neighborhood friends about how cool church was and how they let me see a gory movie in Sunday School. Now that I'm a little older and slightly more mature, I think the Christian leaders were trying to use that movie to scare us in to living a holy life. I'm not sure if they were really hoping that scary movie would stop my constant bad behavior in Sunday School class, but it was finally the kind of entertainment I enjoyed going to church... | |
